Entrepreneur Georgia has published a partner article on the LegalTech Lab, under the headline აშშ-ის საელჩოს მხარდაჭერით სამართლის ტექნოლოგიების ინტერდისციპლინური ლაბორატორია LegalTech Lab შეიქმნა (LegalTech Lab, an interdisciplinary legal technology laboratory, established with U.S. Embassy support).
The article reports that the Lab was set up under a memorandum of cooperation between Document.ge and Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University, so that law students learn technology in practice and not only in theory. It places the Lab within the University Capacity Building Program (UCBP), funded by the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi and implemented by the American Councils for International Education.
It also recalls two visits under the same programme: the 2025 study visit, in which Vice Rector Dimitry Gegenava and Shalva Jokharidze held meetings at eight U.S. universities, and the 2026 reciprocal visit to Tbilisi by Nicole Morris, director of Emory University’s TI:GER programme.
Among the Lab’s practical tools, the article names the blockchain simulator for smart contracts and the public/private key simulator, along with a regular review of developments in LegalTech and AI regulation, published as a newsletter adapted for students.
The article closes with the Lab’s plans to expand its research and teaching projects and to involve students in practical and experimental work, and notes that the Lab is open to cooperation with other universities, legal clinics, research institutes, companies and public bodies.
